My HERBALIFE Journey 

I am a mom of 3 beautiful children. But my pregnancies were not very kind to my body. I was very fit when I fell pregnant with my first child, but because of complications I could not exercise during the pregnancy. So, I picked up a LOT of weight with my first child (25kg – with my height, I was almost as wide as I was tall!). After my daughter was born, I developed thyroid problems, so I then lost a LOT of weight again because of the illness. After treatment, I started picking up too much weight again; only to find out I was pregnant again. And so my story goes on until after my 3^rd child’s birth.

So, my body has been through SOOO many changes in the last 7 years, I couldn’t even remember how it felt to be myself. Last year, I decided enough is enough; I will start living healthy, exercise and lose weight that I feel like my old self again. I decided to do a weight loss challenge and I saw AMAZING results.

I started at 68kg and three months later I have lost 8kg (more than 10%!!) and 52cm! How is that possible you might ask? HERBALIFE! My husband’s brother had lost a lot of weight, so much so that we almost did not even recognise him – he looked great! So my husband and I decide to give Herbalife a go. I just felt I needed a little bit of extra help – beyond just eating healthy and exercising. So we got in contact with a Herbalife coach and she walked the road with us, being our biggest cheerleader! (Thanks Tanya!)

After seeing this amazing results within just 3 months (and Charl even winning 2^nd place in South Africa), we just thought we HAVE to share this amazing products with others as well. The use of the Herbalife products just fits right into our hectic lifestyle of running a few businesses and I just know that once people give it a try, they will not look back!

My HERBALIFE life 2016

If you know me, you will know that I LOVE to eat, socialize, drink a beer or two and eat some more... I was never a person interested in doing diets and totally don’t like exercising. I was never overweight during my school years but about 7 years after school I broke the 100kg mark. Fast forward a few years and in 2015 I weighed 135kg at some stage. My weight went up and down and in April 2016 I weighed 129kg. During that April I traveled to Johannesburg to photograph by brother's stepdaughter's wedding and I saw my brother for the first time in a long time. He lost A LOT of weight and looked awesome. He was using HERBALIFE and exercised 3-4 times a week. Exercise and “diet”, two of my least likable things in life :) After talking to him I decided that I will try this HERBALIFE “diet”. When I got back in Cape Town I talked to my wife and she was keen to support me and doing it with me. So, we Googled to find a HERBALIFE supplier and after talking to her we entered the HERBALIFE weight loss challenge for 3 months. From the first day I decided that I will give HERBALIFE a good go BUT NO exercise (didn’t like it and was too fat and uncomfortable to even try something).

During the next 3 months we followed the HERBALIFE “diet” with exception to weekends. So, from Friday Supper to Sunday Supper we carried on like normal for most of the time and had a few cheat meals during the week when we went out with friends. Nothing too STRICT. I was happy with the “diet” we were doing and ate enough without ever feeling hungry during the 3 months. I also had 2 operations during this time and was booked off for 65 days. I played Playstation for most of the time and had to rest because of the operations. So, to be honest, I was happy with that because I couldn’t exercise (didn’t really want to either).

After the 3 month weight loss challenge I lost 13.1kgs (9.3% body fat) and actually won that specific weight loss challenge. I was really proud but also realized that I really didn’t work hard or really made big sacrifices to achieve this. I was really surprised at how EASY it was for me. At the end I came second in SOUTH AFRICA out of all the male customers who entered the weight loss challenge.

So, why am I sharing this with you...
1. Well, to start, I still don’t exercise, but very weirdly I think I want to.... Yes, crazy, I know!!!

2. I am still over weight and I am still using HERBALIFE to get to my target..... don’t ask me what that is, I don’t know :)

3. Yes, I picked up a few kgs over the December holiday

4. I am actually sharing this to show that losing weight doesn’t have to be difficult, I know that I will not have a 6 pack without proper hard work, sacrifices and exercise, but, I don’t want that. I just want to be healthier and feel healthier for the sake of my marriage, kids and my work.
